On May 6, 2020, the Team Hicks campaign tweeted (and Josh Hicks retweeted), “Andy Barr in March: We shouldn’t politicize this pandemic.
“Andy Barr in May: Let’s boost my campaign fundraising by politicizing this pandemic.”[1]
According to the Andy Barr letter pictured in the Team Hicks tweet, “I can’t say I’m surprised what liberal billionaire Bill Gates said about China.
“In a recent CNN interview, Gates said that it was a distraction to focus on China’s early mismanagement of the virus.
“Like the rest of the Democratic Party, Bill Gates is giving China a free pass and refusing to hold them accountable for putting the world in this situation.
“Make no mistake about it, demanding answers from China is not a distraction.”[2]
