o      In a June 24, 2005, response to a thread on the website SportBike World, Josh Hicks (posting under the name sindic) wrote, “I also call bullshit on the overwhelming number of people online who claim to have bad experiences every time they are pulled over. I was ticketed 7 times in 4 years and 6 different states, and probably pulled over at least three times that and given warnings. Not one time did I ever have a cop, trooper, or deputy be rude to me. In my opinion, my experiences are too widely spread to just be ‘luck’. I could be wrong, and this could be inflammatory, but I think it’s become trendy and cool to say ‘FUCK THA POLICE DAWG’, and have that sort of attitude. Of course, that attitude may or may not be warranted. It’s my opinion that it’s not always warranted, it’s just cool to have it, and there’s no reason to have it unless you have a story, real or fake, about the pig who was fat and sloppy and probably much less intelligent than you who harassed you for no reason other than you were cooler than he was.

“In my opinion, if you’re going to break the law in an obvious manner, you have to be prepared for the consequences. If I’m running 120 on my new bike, and I get lights behind me, the LAST FUCKING THING I’m going to do is endanger the life of that officer and other citizens to avoid a couple hundred dollars worth of ticket. It really pisses me off to read online somone giving advice suggesting running from the police. Suck it up and accept the good with the bad.”[1]
