o In an April 12, 2018, interview with My Old Kentucky Podcast, when asked if his state legislative district was ready to elect a Democrat, Josh Hicks said, “We’re raising taxes on 95 percent of Kentuckians, while giving $500 million in tax breaks to the top five percent of corporations and wealthy Kentuckians. And, frankly I think people in the 45th and all around the state are seeing that these pipe dreams that Republicans told them, this fiscal conservatism myth that a lot of these representatives and elective office holders have, is not true. And they’re starting to see through that fabrication, and that’s going to put candidates who are really ready to go and implement systems and revenue programs and a taxation scheme that works for the many instead of the few, I think it’s going to be — I think we’re going to see that wave push towards candidates who will push that kind of policy.”[1]
